Privacy policy

Find My Fit College is a free, non-commercial personal project. It is not run by or affiliated with any school, college, testing company, or Common App. It is intended for students age 13 and older. If you are under 13, please do not create an account.

What you can do without giving us anything

The interest inventory, profile, college matching, and downloads all run inside your web browser. If you do not create an account, none of your answers, scores, or college list are sent to us or anyone else. "Save on this device" stores your progress only in your own browser's local storage, and you can delete it at any time with "Delete saved progress".

Climb My ACT works the same way: without an account, your ACT practice progress stays in your browser's local storage (turn this off or clear it on its Progress tab). If you click "Use ACT __ in my college matches", that score is copied into this browser's local storage for the college profile; nothing is sent anywhere.

Climb My SAT (the SAT practice section at /sat/) has no accounts at all. Your SAT practice progress (answers and whether each was right, diagnostic results, Bluebook practice scores you type in, an official score if you enter one, and study-plan settings) stays in your browser's local storage under the key satprep.v1. You can turn this off or clear it on its Progress & plan tab. If you click "Use SAT __ in my college matches", that score is copied into this browser's local storage for the college profile; nothing is sent anywhere.

What we collect if you create an optional account

• Your email address and a password (the password is stored only in hashed form by our login provider), used only so you can sign in.
• Your Find My Fit College progress: your checked interest activities, the GPA and test scores you enter, your preferences (home state, size, type, regions, price), and your saved college list.
• Your scholarship profile and list, if you save to your account: grade, county and city, any optional tags you check (such as first-generation, financial need, military family, or heritage), and your saved scholarships. These optional tags are used only to match scholarships; leave them unchecked if you prefer.
• Your scholarship alert choice (the "Email me new matching scholarships" box and which areas you picked), with your state and county. No scholarship emails are sent at this time; if that changes, this policy will be updated first, and every email will have an unsubscribe link.
• Your Climb My ACT progress (the ACT practice section at /act/), saved separately: which practice questions you answered and whether each was right, diagnostic results, the raw scores and any scale scores you type in for ACT's official practice tests, and your study-plan settings. We never store ACT's answer keys.

We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, birthday, school, or any government ID. Please do not type other personal details into the tool.

How it is used

Only to let you sign in and pick up where you left off. We do not sell, rent, or share your information, do not use it for advertising, and do not show ads. There are no tracking cookies or analytics.

Where it is stored

Account data is stored with our database and login provider, Supabase, in a table protected by row-level security so that each signed-in student can read only their own saved progress. Supabase processes the data on our behalf to provide the service.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all saved progress yourself at any time with "Delete my account and data" on the My account tab (on the main site or in Climb My ACT; either one deletes everything for both). Climb My ACT also lets you delete only your ACT practice data. Deletion is permanent. You can also ask us to delete it by contacting the site owner at the contact below.

Data from other sources

College information comes from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard. Interest items come from the O*NET Interest Profiler Short Form (U.S. Department of Labor). Climb My ACT's and Climb My SAT's practice questions are original; links to act.org, College Board, Bluebook, and Khan Academy go to those sites. Links to colleges, Federal Student Aid, CareerOneStop, and other sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Donations and sponsors

Find My Fit College is supported by donations and sponsors only. There are no paid tiers, ads, or affiliate links. Sponsors appear as a logo and link and never receive any student information. Sponsors have no effect on college matches or ACT practice. If you choose to donate, you do so on the donation provider's own website (for example Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee), under that provider's privacy policy; this site does not see your payment details.
